john, I don't know about vanity. I'm alright with a simple bridge that opens up the strait.
About a tunnel vis-a-vis a bridge, how cheaper it would be, if it is cheaper at all? Wouldn't a tunnel be a lot more expensive against a bridge? And if Singapore disagreed to a tunnel while Malaysia wanting it, we would be really screwed. Reason is, Singapore would hold the final say in everything, effective killing Malaysian negotiation power. A bridge gives Malaysia flexibility and the upper hand against Singapore.
And heh, it's __earth. "..-- .-" refers to an underscore. But haha! You took the initiative to translate the code! LOL!
