96 down and 4 to go.
AFC Ajax Amsterdam played against the mighty Spanish giant Valencia at the Mastella Stadium, Valencia’s home ground.
To be honest, Ajax didn’t expect to survive the onslaught of the giant, much less the expectation of leading the giant by even a goal. That expectation appeared to be somewhat true when the match started at around 1500 EST. I watched the game live on UEFA’s website.
I sat at the edge of my seat while seeing Valencia dominating the game from the first minute to the last. Ajax was nothing but a boy to Valencia but somehow, Ajax, in particular Didulica, the Ajax's custodian managed to frustrate Valencia each time the ball is shot towards Ajax’s goal.
Nevertheless, Ajax did what Italy did to Holland back in Euro 2000 - a deadly counter-attack by the impressive midfielder Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Quoting UEFA’s match report,
“And as time ran out, with the home side pushed forward, Rafael van der Vaart won the ball in midfield and played a precise ball through for Ibrahimovic, who rounded Cañizares and shot in.”Watch the goal that stunt Mastella
here.
With that goal, Ajax silenced Mastella and threatened to pollute Valencia clean home record. Yet, Valencia didn’t give up easily and continued to move forward with a race against time. Their effort didn’t go to waste as in the final minute, in the 92nd to be precise, Angulo finally beat the Australian Ajacied and saved Valencia from trouble.
It was a waste to see Ajax lost an opportunity to gain three away points but acquiring a point was Koeman’s original target. It is true that it was lucky for Ajax to gain even a point but it was luckier for Valencia to not to lose the first opening match.
Valencia will look to return a favor in Amsterdam later in the group phase but while in the proud Amsterdam AreaA, Ajax is proven to be a very difficult team to play. Just ask Inter Milan or better, Manchester United.

The 95th entry and, Warcraft III yet again.
I don’t know why but it seems that I can’t develop a good strategy for Blizzard’s Warcraft III. Every time I practice on my computer, the result will be either I will die fast or I will win the first wave. However, the first wave will be insufficient to take my opponent’s entire base down to earth. Moreover, immediately after that, I will be very much incapable to receive a counterattack. Sad.
It might sounds like I am a noob to Warcraft III. Well, I admit it. I am noob but certainly not to RTS (Real-Time Strategy for non-gamer readers) game. I proudly can say that I am the one of the first to embrace computer games as my religion. To back up my claim, I played Dune II, a revolutionary RTS back in the early 90’es. Shortly, Command & Conquer came out and I played that too. Even when the first Warcraft came out, I was one of the first to get my hand on that game.
However, I usually lose interest on a sequel of game. For instance, there were lots C&C follow-ups but that game simply failed to capture my interest. Dune: Emperor also was introduced in year 2000 or so but I simply shoved it off from my mind.
RTS is cool but my obsession has always been with turn-based strategy (for the non-gamers again, no, it is not called TBS regardless what the reason is). The classic is Sid Meier’s Civilization. It was one of the most addictive games ever. Its addictiveness had me bought its entire sequels, namely Civilization II and the latest installment, Civilization III save Civilization: Call to Power, which was a “gay” addition to the royal trilogy.
Another classic is Master of Orion (known as MOO), another one of Sid Meier successful brands. Most Civilization addicts would have played this game. MOO II was successful too and MOO III, which has already made a blasting entry to the gaming market, is simply amazing.
Lastly, Alpha Centauri. Now Alpha Centauri is annoying but its addictiveness is unbelievable. To turn-based strategy gamers, they (including me) would think that this game is the continuation of Civilization series. Although that is not official, the storyline between both games fits perfectly like the final piece of a jigsaw puzzle. In Civilization, one of the game possible endings is sending a spacecraft to Alpha Centauri, which in the latter game, starts with the destruction of United Nation Spacecraft Unity over a habitable planet orbiting the Alpha Centauri's star.
These two genres had monopolized my gaming habit until Half-life came out. I was glued to Half-Life rather late compare to the hardcore gamers. Nevertheless, Half-life changed my perception to first-person shooter game (third-person shooter, I think it is the same as first-person).
Of course, again, I am no noob to first person game. I played Wolfenstein 3D (yes! The grandfather of first person shooter) and finished it with the help of my cousin!) when nobody knows anything about computer game other than Chip or Solitaire. The next best thing was Doom, Duke Nukem, Jedi Knight I and lots of others until I lost my interest in this genre. I would say that Half-life just reinstituted my interest for first-person shooter genre.
My interest in this genre continues to grow as the internet grows. Counter-strike was a magnificent game. It is a cool game save the cheaters. The next in line is Soldier of Fortune II. As I had mentioned before, I was a regular player on redcoat.net and dontsleep.org. I logged on almost everyday until I made some friends.
Finally, my favorite is Jedi Knight II. Here, HERE, I could brag that I am good! My reputation even surpasses my ability. Prove - the |AP| clan somehow recognizes my nick (Thrawn). I also maintain an account on Corruptiveminds.com, a clan although I am not a member.
Lastly, a “genreless” game. Yeah, you named it – Championship Manager (CM by SI Games). To be honest, I was one of the staunchiest criticizers of this game. When the game first came out, I would belittle CM fans’ obsession. I mean, how stupid would you get! Sitting in front of the screen staring at names and stats running all over the monitor; that is just dim-witted.
Well, I learned how stupid that statement is 4 years after the release of the game first version. Now, I am one of those “stupid gamers” whom sit on a chair and stare for hours at the screen, skipping lunch and sleep. I can't say that I am proud of it though.
Hmm…nevertheless, I still don’t consider myself as a gamer. Odd but check out these links:

Woohoo, this is the 94th post!
I had the most frightening dream last night. It was a nightmare.
As I was sleeping in the REM state, I was dreaming that I was at a car park at some university. There was some feature at university that looked familiar to Michigan North Campus’ Pierpont Commons but I am sure that the dream didn’t revolve around Michigan’s atmosphere. What I am sure off was that I was on an unidentified island. Moreover, there was some environmental group protest that I joined on a street similar to Beal Avenue that runs right by the Media Union.
The dream didn’t have any ghost or Jason X styled person. What made it scary was that I faced death. Nearby the university, there was an active volcano. It was about to vomit its content out to wipe out its surrounding to kingdom come. None evacuated the island because nobody knew anything about the volcano status.
When the time came for the destruction of the volcano, somebody was chasing me while I was driving in the car park. A car chase begun and somehow, I died. I couldn’t recall how I died but what I remember that I met God and God sent me straight to hell. While in hell, you could only imagine what I saw. It was frightening that I forgot even the blurriest detail in the Satan’s home.
Nevertheless, after a few short moments, God forgave me and gave me a second chance for to prove to him that I am worthy enough to pass through heaven's gate.
When I woke up, it was almost time for physics discussion session at Denilson Building, which is about 10 minutes away from my bed.
I hope I won’t be in hell once I leave my bed for good later in life.

This is the 94th post.
The Wolverines lost to the Buckeyes 14 - 9 yesterday. Michigan was leading for 3 quarters but failed to defend their lead in the last part of the game. How unfortunate. I guess it's Tampa again for us. Sigh...
I didn't watch the game but whatever happened, I refuse to accept the fact that Ohio State is going to represent the Big Ten Conference to the National Championship; and no, I am not a sore loser. I am saying this because instead of OSU, Iowa is the most suitable team to represent our conference to the Fiesta Bowl.
It is true that No. 2 Ohio State is a tough team to fight against each year. They are one of the names in the Big Ten that every team hates to meet. They proved to us with an undefeated run this season. Nevertheless, they failed to prove that they deserve to be in the National Championship by not meeting the better Iowan. Again, I am stressing that I am not jealous of the Buckeyes success. Instead, I am just echoing the backseat low protest.
No. 4 Iowa is boasted with the best offense team nationwide. The only problem is that they lost one game, just one non-Conference game to their intrastate rival, Iowa State. However, compare to Iowa, Buckeyes’ wins are inconvincible. They needed an overtime to defeat the pathetic “Fightin Illini”, they struggled against Purdue, they won by a small margin against pretender Wisconsin and finally, they got lucky to survive (No. 9) Michigan's fury in the second quarter. Shifting our eyes to Iowa’s result, one could only wonder why Ohio, not Iowa is at the second rung behind the seemingly invincible No. 1 Miami. Puzzled?
The answer to this is obvious. The current ranking system is at fault. Period.
Whatever. The important thing is that Ajax is again clutching their mightily grip on the Dutch Eresdivisie and they will be up against Valencia this week. A tough match no doubt but then again, it is the UEFA Champions’ League, not MLS.
“Don’t take my Ajax away…”

Out of rare events, this entry will criticize the Government of Malaysia.
I am one of the persons who believe that the current Government of Malaysia is doing the right thing for the country. Barisan Nasional or the National Front if you may has been in power since Malaysia achieved its independence back in 1957. In fact, it has monopolized the country’s politics even during the pre-independence period.
After all those years, they have brought a lot of improvement the country. They drove the country from a backwater third world nation to a technological savvy one. No doubt, the local populace needs to be thankful.
However, currently the top leaders in Malaysia are engaging immature political maneuvers. I could not believe what kind of craps they are doing at the moment (but this of course, minus Dr. Mahathir himself. I still fail to see why people hate him so much after all he had done for us).
My first complaint is concerning the national service issue. I would say that enlisting in the army is one of the best ways to enforce nationalism. However, forcing the civilian to join the reserve corps is certainly not the best way to inspire the spirit of nationalism. If the youth are going to suffer from this suggestion, Malaysia could say goodbye to the word patriotism.
Patriotism is not something that could easily be planted into one’s soul. If one tries to force a CD into a floppy drive, one will never be able to read the content of the CD. Worse, if applied sufficient force, one could break the CD into two. The same goes with loyalty.
“All along when S'pore was doing this, M'sia have insisted that they will not do N/Services. Why now? Are they losing ground on the political grassroots? Why the N/service when the school should do this. You guys were from there and don't tell me you're not loyal to your country!”The above are Mr. Veera’s words and they echo my own view.
Secondly, I just read the headline “Two Barisan reps face action over PORR motion” in The Star. All I could say after reading the content of the article was “WTF?” These representatives, who are the members of the ruling party is going to be punished just because they did not support the party proposal. What is this? Where is the freedom of expression? Where is the freedom to decide, the freedom to choose?
These reps did what they did because the people in their respective constituent are against the motion. They need not to agree with the motion just because the party says they must.
Of course, unity in the party is important but when it comes to the good of the society, the need of the people comes first rather than the party. They need to decide what is best for the people, not for the party in this particular case.
If the two reps are going to be punished for what they did, then freedom is seriously threatened. If this is going to happen, I suggest we change the name Malaysia to Oceania.
Finally, the dreaded water supply issue with Singapore. The leaders in Malaysia have acted very immaturely in handling it. All I heard for the leaders and the papers were accusations rather than constructive ideas. The same goes to the island across the narrow straits (Come on man, you want to declare a war against Malaysia? Yeah, you could do a surprise attack but the shock won’t last as long as you want. Instead, the outcome of the war may result in Malaysia gaining extra land!)
Nevertheless, whatever the accussations and the counteraccusations are, Singapore has agreed, more or less to meet Malaysia’s earlier demand. Why must we need to drag the issue further? I say we accept the offer and keep quiet. There is no need to be a
kiasu.
After all this, quoting Mr. Veera again,
“This is politically motivated and a waste of tax payers money.”EOM.
p/s - you guys do know what EOM means right? Do you guys ever heard the word brb? I mean COME ON!!!

Angels… =)
I was on my way to the Engineering Campus late in the evening. All I could think of was how relieve am I to be done with almost everything for the week save the upcoming test tomorrow. How fortunate was I to complete a discrete math assignment in just within seven short hours. The assignment was due at Wednesday’s midnight and I had more than an hour to spare. Delighted to know time, for this one time had decided to be my friend, I took the leisure to walk to the Natural Science Museum. I need to take a bus ride there but I simply didn’t care whether the bus would leave me or not. I was trying to savor the hour without letting even a single second slipped from my senses. I let the cold air into my lung and felt so thankful to God to let me breathe the sweet air. I just walked slowly and tried to appreciate the sweetness of the clean air.
Once I reached the bus stop, I saw the bus was about to leave. Nevertheless, I did not mind and simply walked toward the bus without much haste. Fortunately for me, the bus driver was kind enough to wait for me. I got onto the bus and to my delight, I saw Vinay in the bus. I had a little chat with him until I need to get off the bus.
Afterward, I submitted the dreaded assignment and walked back to the edge of the Media Union for the bus again. I stood there and surveyed my surrounding. I saw how beautiful the North Campus is at night. It reminds of the Perdana Lake Garden back in Kuala Lumpur. My eyes still enjoying the scenery until my eyes noticed an angel. I observed her for a fraction of a second until I broke the contact.
The bus came. I went into the bus. So did her.
I sat somewhere in the middle of the bus and she was standing near the driver. I wonder why she didn’t take a sit while the bus was simply empty. Perhaps she was going to get off the bus somewhere nearby. That was what I said to myself. And it proved to be true later.
While on the bus, I could not stop looking at her.
She had a fair skin.
A pleasantly bluish colored snowcap covered her blonde hair with a comforting dark brown scarf dangled around her neck. She wore a jean with a blue overcoat. She would be all in blue except for her cotton hand glove, which was purple in color.
Her face looked sad, or maybe even angry. Yes, she more or less looked angry. Nevertheless, even with a raging hatred, she was stunningly beautiful beyond words.
She rang the bell and the bus stopped to allow her to get off. My eyes followed her outside. Later, she was gone, for good. I on the other hand, was still in the bus, moved by her beauty.

I think I will take a break from writing about the future for this entry. The Future series demands me to spend more time than I had planned to invest earlier.
After all my life, I have finally realized that the thing that had kept me going on was the phrase “life goes on”.
Whenever something bad happens, I will regret it but at the same time, I will tell myself to go on and forget about unfortunate event that had befallen me. My inner voice will always say too bad Hafiz. It is your fault but there is no point of blaming, is there? Learn from it and live on. Hope for the better for life goes on.
That was the only thing that had given me hope to live on. Hope for the best. Yet, it seems that hope is something forsaken. On everything that went against my favor, I went through it and hope for a brighter future - nevertheless, when I went through it, immediately after that, the situation took another turn, for the worse. How could it be? How could it be when you said life goes on, life seems to take a worse twist?
Yes, life goes on but must it always be for the worse? Aye, perhaps always is too tough a word but from my perspective, the word always appears to be an underestimation.
A person somewhere in war torn part of Africa, where famine is everlasting, is it possible to hope, to see into the future and say tomorrow is going to be better? How is that possible when now, right at the very moment, that person is dying from hunger, lying on his back while his face faces the scorching UV? Is it possible to say life goes on when at the very moment, when it seems that life is non-existence in the very next minute?
Just a few days ago, I found a better phrase to hang on to. Concentrate on the moment. Yes, hope for the best but hope is nothing when you just hope and dream. What makes hope possible is the moment that you are facing now, at the present, at the very second of your existence; not the past neither the things that will be. When a person is dying from hunger, he (I refuse to use ‘she’, I am a chauvinist and yes, chauvinism still exist well into the 21st century. At least I am not an extremist. I think that feminism movement should be banned but let us not steer into that water just yet. And oh, I am a little bit racist but let put that aside) needs to concentrate on the moment, find the precious water to live on, not yelling silently to himself I am going to die nor I am going to live through this. If he says he is going to die, then he will not try to search for water. If he believes that he is going to survive, he will depend too much on blind hope.
All he needs to do is concentrate on the moment. He may die but at least he concentrated on the moment and did his best to survive.
Aye, life goes on but like what Yoda said, concentrates on the moment.
I am having a terrible headache now and I have an exam on Thursday. I am worry about the exam but I need to concentrate on the moment. I need to sleep to let the headache pass through me. I need to concentrate on the pain rather than the exam first.
Good night, and pray for my future.

The Future, Part 4
Space Lanes and Spaceports
Once the Solar System or at least the inner region of the system is populated, there will be space lanes, much as the present shipping lanes transporting goods and people across vast distance. Although it will take sometimes before lots of lanes to be defined and accepted among the public, the only lanes that will be accepted will be the safest or the fastest route. Once the space lanes are defined, space buses will be the main vehicle transporting Human back and forth from Earth to other colonies. The existence of the lanes is vital to Human expansion in space. It will enable ship pilots to save time instead of trying to figure the best way to navigate their ships.
These lanes or sort of course will not be built with similar fashion as the tube. It would be ridiculously stupid to buill a tube from one place in space to another. By the way, the hazard of meteor shower or the same sort prevents such idea to be implemented. Instead, a buoy will be placed after every certain among of distance along the lanes. The buoys will transmit some kind of signal to traveling ship. The signal gives out useful information regarding navigation.
One would argue that these buoys be effectively be replaced by a space station placed in a quadrant or so. However, communication between a ship and the station will take time. The buoys effectively tell ship pilots.
Buoys nevertheless do not dismiss the importance of a space station. It must be stressed that these buoys will be under the jurisdiction of the station.
There will at least space station in every planet’s orbit, controlling the space traffic of a particular planet. These space stations will usually act as spaceports, a commercial center of a planet. This will allow space traders to sell their goods at the spaceport instead of descending to the planet and waste precious energy.
There will also be stations built in the middle of space, especially in the middle of a long space lane. The station will act as a pit stop and an entreport station.
Back to the orbit, the spaceport will possibly have an extra feature, or at least a spaceport with a solid planet rather than the gaseous Jupiter or Saturn. The feature will accelerate the economic growth of a planet rather dramatic and check the demand for fuel effectively. Spaceports in Earth’s and Mars orbit will be the upper part of a space elevator. For more information on space elevator, read a past posting in The __earth Inc.

The Future, Part 3
The Minerals and Space Colonization
Currently, crude oil reserve will only sustain us barely through half of the 21st century and it is only the matter of time until all of the minerals will finally be exhausted.
Nevertheless, Human will develop a way to dig even deeper to obtain more mineral. Mines will be built deep in the dark sea trenches. These mines will sustain Human needs when all ground mines are rendered useless.
Although these underwater mines will be prominent in the future scenario, with the ongoing developing aerospace technology, there will be no doubt that future minerals will be mined in outer space, both on Earth’s natural satellite and beyond. These mines will be the foundation of future space cities.
The need of more minerals will lead to the colonization of the Moon. The colonization of the Moon will without doubt be expensive but the advantage of it, by far suppress the economic burdens. During the “Age of Lunar Colonization”, there will be a point where the idea of transporting the water supply from Earth to Moon bases (that will become Moon cities) is unfeasible. In the end, the mining of water will be one of the main agenda. It is known now that there is ice cap somewhere at one of Moon’s poles. If this is not enough, perhaps Human will have to resort to technology that fusions hydrogen and oxygen together to produce the most precious elixir in the universe.
Once science allows Human to explore and travel farther in the cold space, the asteroids will be heavily mined. The asteroid belt will become the place for major mines in the Solar System.
Mars, Earth’s twin will also be the victim of Human expansion because the colonization of the fourth planet will promise a non-stop supply of resources. As time passes by, the notion of terraforming will come to mind. The process of terraforming will consume many years but the possibility of a new Earth will not stop Human from continuing with the process.
The other main reason for space exploration will be Earth inability to support Human’s exponential growth. With open space far becoming scarce, the only way to avoid conflict among the Human is a habitat expansion outside of Earth.

The Future, Part 2
Two third of Earth surface is covered by water. Two third is such a large portion to be left unused and it goes unmentioned that human will scour for land in any way that is possible. They “reclaim” land for the sea and build skyscrapers to provide more space for their business. Between these two, land reclamation is the most destructive method. Not only it destroys the natural habitat of underwater creatures, it also diverts the natural flow of the ocean and in the end, causing great catastrophe to ecosystems such as swamp and beach.
This is why in the future, in the middle of the ocean, there will be great cities comparable to today’s major cities. The cities will stand under the sea level as well as floating in the middle of nowhere.
The underwater cities will be protected against the powerful water pressure by multiple great dome made out from some high pressure tolerance material. The cities might be built in ocean trenches or simply on shallow sea floor. Some of the cities, if it is huge enough and if the depth of the city is not so great, will reach the water surface and have the pleasure of sunlight to some extend. It will not be surprising to see the city of Singapore or Hong Kong to be both ground-based cities and underwater cities. The land problem there is so critical, in times to come, we might see of these cities’ structures to be built underwater, near its coast instead of seeing major land reclamation projects.
Between the underwater cities, transportation tubes will be constructed much as the same fashion as its ground counterpart plus a few technical details that enable it to survive the intense water pressure. Although there will be tubes, the main type of underwater vehicle will depend on rotor much as what is being use nowadays. These vehicles, submarine if you may, will be amphibious, allowing it to be operated on land (or in the tubes) and underwater.
Being under the water, the water pressure could be another method of producing clean energy and thus helping solving the problem of transporting the much needed electricity to the underwater world.
There will also be cities floating on the wave. It may well be exaggeration to call these Human’s habitat as city as the floating structure is just a large ship that are sailing all around the world. Like on land, almost everything is available for its residents. These ships will only come to shore to restock its’ supplies. This idea is not far fetch as even right now, the project of such magnitude is underway. Read all about it at
www.freedomship.com. Perhaps, the only time when these ships need not to call a port is when they are out of fresh fish supply.

The future that I dream of, an utopian dream.
Once in a while during those times when I was younger than today, the days when I would look into the clouds and think of something that will not relate to my problem in life, the days when a sleep could solve all of my problem, I had always dreamed of an elaborate future society. With details so minute in a scale, I could be God of an advanced populace, managing their life.
The future of which I dreamed of will be a total triumph for the environmentalism movement. The waste management will be so efficient that almost none of the waste, whether it is solid or not, will be recycled. The phrase “want not, waste not” will extinct.
The future holds so many hope and dream. Nightmare could also come true with nuclear holocaust or widespread conventional war. But looking at the bright side, it could be a utopian dream. Described below is my utopia, a situation where environmentalism (rather than democracy) is the crux of Human society.
Pollution
First of the all, the cities of future time will be the main concentration of the Human society as it has for thousand of years. Since the cities contain ton of activities, pollution will be produced most there. To protect the global ecosystem, each city will have lofty towers that will function as supporting structures that will make sure that a city will be enclosed totally within a giant sphere. This sphere is not a physical object but rather, a shield, a cell’s wall that will function a lot like a plant’s membrane that will allow osmosis or more accurately, reverse-osmosis-styled process. The shield will have the ability to filter out any harmful gases or particles from crossing it. This will form an isolated system for a particular city.
All the pollution produced by the city will be recycled or at least being reprocessed locally. For instance, any gas produced by a plant will not be given the right to pass through the shield membrane. This in turn will make a waste build up in the city. For this reason, the processing ability must be both fast and efficient. The rate of the waste processing ability must be at least equal to the pollution that is being produced. It is essential to have a sure ability of pollution reprocessing before the shield is constructed. To ensure this, every polluting entity will have its own pollution eliminator.
In addition, having an enclosed environment for the city will allow the administration of the city to control the condition of the city. To obtain that capability, the shield should have the power to filter the amount of radiation that is allowed to pass through the shield. Having a shield that will sort out both particles and radiation could be hard. Therefore, the shield should have two layers of membrane; one layer will act as a radiation shield while the other as a particle shield. With the ability to sort of radiation, light pollution and in effect, the problem of reprocessing all kind of pollutions will be solved.
If the shield could be seen by naked eye, it will probably not be geometrically hemispherical but rather will have an almost flat surface at the top. A few strong towers will support the shield from within the shield.
Transportation
Secondly, the issue of transportation will be addressed. Ground transportation will mostly be based on magnetic technology, such as the current Maglev train in France. There will be magnetic track in tubes running in the city from one end to another. Tire will be placed by magnetic field generator that will allow vehicles to move forward, backward etc without friction “on” the track. The vehicles will need not to be fed with fuel but instead, it will run on electricity thus generating no byproduct with the likes of sulphur or carbon dioxide. The power source of the vehicle will be produced from the movement of the vehicles relative to the track. Nevertheless, there will be some vehicles that will have hover capabilities. Hovering capabilities will allow the driver to travel off the track.
Most likely, the city will only depends on public transportation, not like the present time. The public transportation will be efficient, running 24 - 7. The need to have a personal vehicle will be eliminated although the production of such a vehicle will not be prohibited.
For inter-cities transportation, there will a huge tube connecting cities much like today’s highways. These tubes will also act as pipe lines, power lines and communication lines.
Power
As mentioned above, these tubes will produce electricity. So, while the tubes are serving the populace as a mean of clean transportation, it will also act as a clean, enormous power generator. This idea will make power failure almost unimaginable since these tubes are omnipresent in the city.
Tomorrow’s power plants will be clean-based plant, neither producing harmful gases and particles like coal power plant nor destroying to habitat of animals like hydroelectric power plants. Instead, fusion will play an important role in providing electricity. Solar panels will be placed in the hot blazing barren deserts and wind turbines will be placed in places where strong wind is prevalent, usually in the middle of the seas, like what is being plan somewhere in North Atlantic Sea near Europe. Some of the energy will also be produced in the orbit of Earth and beam down to a receptor on Earth. As a summary, clean energy will dominate the energy market.

...
We never paid any heed to the ancient prophecies...
Like fools, we clung to the old hatreds, and fought as we had for generations.
Until the day the sky rained fire, and a new enemy came among us.
We stand now upon the brink of destruction...for the reign of chaos has come, at last. - Blizzard Entertainment, Warcraft III
